Ghostscript dll for Visual Studio .net

Dec 28, 2015 at 9:30 AM
Just wanted to know is there any way i can have the ghostScript dll referred by a Visual Studio Project.
My issue is that i am using the dll in my web application which i need to host it on Azure cloud. Since the dll is dependent upon GhostScript (which is to be installed in the machine) i am unable to my application.

Can you guys please suggest a work around for this?

You only need Ghostscript when you want to read postscript files. And you cannot use this commercially without paying for a license. I have added a link to the download page on my documentation page. You can find it here:

Hi dlemstra,

I had downloaded the relevant GhostScript exe files and installed the same. But since i want to deploy my application on cloud (for testing purpose) it doesn't work since it cannot refer to the Ghostscript files (not installed on cloud and its tedious to install it there).
It would be helpful if you could guide me on how to refer Ghostscript as a referenced dll in my application (in .net).
Note - I am doing a POC on this, hence using Ghostscript for evaluation purposes. As soon as this is successful I will buy the licensed version of it.

I just updated the documentation to explain how you can do that. You can find that here:
