PNG compression

Oct 15, 2015 at 10:38 AM
hi, i have a jpg file, 1024x613, 170KB.

I resize it into 596x549 png format, but the resulted file size is kinda big, 487KB.
I tried online compression tool tinypng, and it's able to reduce the size to 180KB.
How do i achive similar file size with magick.net ? or at least around 200KB

thanks

You might also want to take a look at the Quantize method. This is what tinypng is doing according to the information on their page. They get better result for semi transparent pixels though. You should also upgrade to 7.0.0.0020 because of a bug in Quantize in the previous version. And if you use the ImageOptimizer you might be able to reduce your file with a couple of kilobytes.
